The first option is mandatory, if you leave it blank, the price setting will not be saved.

Our tours vary in age from tour to tour.
Therefore, adult, adult-15, adult-16, children, children-5-15 have been added to the term “age”.
A Tour Adults 16 years old ~, Children 5 ~ 15 years old, Babies 0 ~ 4 years old
B Tour Adults 15 years old ~, Children 2 ~ 14 years old, Babies 0 ~ 1 years old

Is it possible to remove the requirement for the first item?

Currently there is only this way to skip the first required option.
In booking form, you can hide this option using js, check value option=0 => hide option.
