I have one question about child theme. If I don’t create a child theme will I lose all these modifications (this number included) once I update the theme to the newest release? Looking forward for your feedback, thanks
March 29, 2022 at 3:19 am #21739maurotantilloSupport ExpiredYou wrote it here: https://pavothemes.com/forums/topic/how-to-change-phone-number-on-header-triply-theme/
“All customizations in the main theme will be lost when you update to the new version, so we always encourage our customers to use child-theme to customize”.
Which customisations do I lose if I don’t create a child theme exactly? Like custom css in the pages or in the theme? what else?
Thanks
March 31, 2022 at 1:02 am #21781Hi,
The customizations written in the child-theme including the style.css and functions.php files will not be lost when you update the main theme.
Conversely, if you edit directly into the main theme, these edits will be lost when updating.
In addition, the settings related to the theme configuration will not be lost when updating the themeMarch 31, 2022 at 3:53 pm #21796maurotantilloSupport ExpiredBasically if:
– I open a page and write custom css just for that page
– open the customiser and add custom css
both will stay even if I update the theme.
Can you confirm?
ThanksApril 4, 2022 at 9:03 am #21888Hi,
All custom CSS please write in style.css file of child-theme or Custom CSS in customize.
