How to update theme from Themeforest

1. Login into your Themeforest account and go to downloads (Dashboad > downloads)

2. Download the theme into your computer

3. Unzip the file you just downloaded from ThemeForest and locate the WordPress Theme. (eg. kitchor-theme.zip)

4. Log into your WordPress Dashboard.

5. Click on “Appearance > Themes”.

6. Still within the Themes section, on header tab, click on “Install Themes”, then on header second tab click “Upload”.

7. Click “Browse…” and locate the new theme file. (eg. kitchor-theme.zip)

8. In the “Upgrade existing theme?” option choose “Yes” from the dropdown list.

9. Click “Install Now”.

10. Click “Activate”.

The proccess works til I upload.
I don’t have the option “upgrade existing theme”

I have this message to replace old theme by the new one, not to upgrade :

Customizations made in the child-theme or directly on the website will not be affected, only if you make changes in the main-theme, it will be lost when updating the theme.

Hi @mediaxprint,

If you use a child-theme and don’t have any customizations directly in the main-theme, the update will not be affected.
It is best to create a backup of your website before updating, if there is any problem, you can rollback to the old version without fear of losing the previously customized data.
