    I saw there was a new update for the theme I am using but am unsure of how to effectively use or implement that. What is the best way to make sure that is properly updated for my site?

    First of all, to make sure the update doesn’t affect your website, you have to make sure you don’t edit anything in the main theme. All code-related customizations must be done in the child-theme.
